Clear Local DNS Cache

Overview

This article will show you how to flush DNS for a computer running Windows and Mac OS.

Instructions for Windows

  1. Select Start button

  2. Search Command Prompt Window

  3. Within the prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns
    Prompt_Screen.png
  4. Hit enter and you should see a message stating Successfully flushed DNS Resolver Cache

Instructions for Mac OS

  1. Select Finder > Go > Utilities

  2. Select Terminal
    select_terminal.png
  3. On your local machine, open a Terminal Window
  4. Within the prompt, type "lookupd -flushcache"

  5. Hit enter
    • Note: There will be no message but at this time please reattempt connection to your domain.
