DNS Propagation

Overview

DNS propagation takes 24-48 hours for the root name servers and cache records across the entire web to be updated with your website's newly added or changed DNS information. However, with most ISP and server caching limits ("TTL" or "Time To Live" value) set as low as they are on average, we typically see DNS changes take 5 hours or less to propagate. If you are purging cache regularly to look for new updates it can appear to happen a lot quicker.
